KABUL (SW) – Government of the Islamic Emirate has welcomed the recent remarks by Mohammad Mohaqiq, the leader of the Islamic Unity Party in regard to not waging armed resistance in the country.
In an interview with a media outlet, Mohaqiq called on his supporters to continue their peaceful struggle, but added that he has no plans to fight the Islamic Emirate at the moment.
He called on the Islamic Emirate to form an inclusive government, which is a condition of the Doha Agreement. “Continue your peaceful struggle inside Afghanistan,” he asked his supporters. “We do not have a war plan for the time being. Our advice to them [the Islamic Emirate] is not to cause controversy.”
Bilal Karimi, the deputy spokesman for the Islamic Emirate, welcomed Mohammad Mohaqiq’s recent remarks and called on political leaders to work with the government to resolve Afghanistan’s current problems.
Karimi, in connection with the people’s concerns about the start of civil wars and riots with the arrival of spring, added that there is no practical war at the moment and no group will be allowed to disrupt Afghanistan’s security.
Mahmoud Andrabi, a university professor and political scientist, said in this regard that Mohaqiq has realized that people will no longer stand behind “populist” and demagogic leaders. According to him, with the arrival of spring, no war will start in Afghanistan. He added that the West is currently involved in Ukraine and the regional powers will not pay for the war in Afghanistan.
It should be noted that with the establishment of the Islamic Emirate, a number of politicians, including Marshal Abdul Rashid Dostum, Mohammad Mohaqiq, Atta Mohammad Noor, Mohammad Karim Khalili and others left Afghanistan for foreign countries.
