Operation underway in Zabul to save the stranded child

KABUL (SW) – A major operation has been underway in Zabul province to save a stranded child fallen in a well.

Top officials including Molavi Mohammad Yaqub Mujahid, Head of the Ministry of National Defense, Dr. Abdul Bari Omar, Head of the Department of Public Health, Anas Haqqani and technical and health teams have also gone to the scene in order to check the rescue operation, according to the state-run RTA news.

The child named Haider fell into a well more than 30 meters deep on Tuesday in a remote area of ​​Qalat, the capital of Zabul province.

The rescue teams have dug a tunnel to rescue the child and are making progress, but the presence of rocks in the path has slowed down the operation.

Sources emphasize that Zabul health teams and local officials are also present at the scene and are monitoring the situation.

However, the child is in said to be in good condition and, according to sources, has been provided with oxygen and food. Pictures of the child posted on social media also show that the child is alive.

In a similar incident in Helmand province, a child fell into a well and died after coming out of the well.
