Budget worth AFN 53.9 billion approved

KABUL (SW) – The cabinet of the Islamic Emirate has set a budget of 53.9 billion afghanis for the last three months of the current fiscal year.

Enamaullah Samangani, the deputy spokesman of the Islamic Emirate, wrote on Twitter that the budget for the last three months of of the solar year worth some 53.9 billion afghanis has been approved. Of that, AFN 49.2 billion are set for expenditure and AFN 4.7 billion for the development, he said.

Samangani added that the purpose of approving this budget is to transfer the start of the fiscal year to the March.

The Islamic Emirate officials have moved the start of fiscal year to the month of March.

The Department of Government Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has announced that the cabinet of ministers has approved a plan to change the beginning of the fiscal year to the month of March. The Department said in a press release that this issue was confirmed at yesterday’s meeting of the cabinet of the Islamic Emirate ministers.

The bulletin also stated that the draft budget for the last three months of this year has been approved at this meeting. The Islamic Emirate has said that for the first time in decades Afghanistan’s budget will be prepared without foreign aid.
