Security forces all set to crackdown on Ali Pur

BAMYAN (SW) – Fawad Aman, deputy spokesman for the Ministry of Defense, said on Saturday the army helicopter was shot down by individuals affiliated with Alipur in Behsud district of Maidan Wardak province killing nine soldiers and pilots.

“Investigations by the Ministry of Defense, as well as documents obtained, show that the air force helicopter was targeted by fighters affiliated with Alipur in Behsud district,” the deputy defense ministry spokesman wrote on Twitter.

Aman stressed that the Ministry of Defense would at all costs avenge the blood of those killed and punish its perpetrators.

Security units in Bamyan are all set to crack down on the local militia commander Alipur in Behsud district of neighboring Maidan Wardak province, a security source said.

The security source, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Salam Watandar that about 1,100 security forces from special units of police, commando, army and police are on standby in Bamyan to crack down on Alipur , the self-proclaimed commander of the ‘People’s Resistance’.

According to the source, the well-equipped forces are waiting for command.

At least 100 bulletproof Humvee tanks arrived in Bamyan this morning at a time when preparations for the Nawruz were underway.

Two days ago, the Ministry of Defense announced that five security forces and four crew members of the helicopter, including its pilot, were killed in this incident.
