Taliban kill 10 security forces in Kunduz

KUNDUZ (SW) – Local officials in Kunduz said on Friday a group of Taliban insurgents killed at least 10 security personnel and wounded 10 others in the province.

Khaliduddin Hakimi, a member of the Kunduz Provincial Council, told Salam Watandar that the Taliban had attacked security checkpoints in the Orte Buz area of ​​Imam Sahib district last night. According to him, 10 security forces, including four policemen and six army soldiers, were killed and 10 others were wounded in the clashes that lasted for several hours.

Meanwhile, Enamuddin Rahmani, a spokesman for the Kunduz police command, confirmed the Taliban attack on security forces in the Orte Buz area and said the group’s attack had been repulsed. Rahmani added that there were casualties in the attack on the security forces, but did not provide details about the casualties.

The Taliban have not yet commented on it.

Meanwhile, a reliable security source told Salam Watandar two drones attacked the 217th Pamir Corps headquarter. According to the source, as a result of this attack, a helicopter of the army forces was damaged. The source added the drone flew for two hours over the corps headquarter, but the army forces did not manage to shoot down the drones.

Abdul Hadi Nazari, a spokesman for the 217th Pamir Corps, confirmed that the drones had flown over the area and that bombs had been dropped from the drones, but said that no military vehicles had been damaged by the bombing.
