Nine more lives lost to Covid-19

KABUL (SW) – Fresh figures by the Ministry of Public Health indicate at least nine people lost their lives to the coronavirus in the past 24 hours across the country.

The Ministry said in a statement that samples of 1427 suspected Covid-19 patients were tested during past 24 hours out of which the results of 427 proved positive. The new cases have been reported from 12 provinces.

It further said that 208 patients suffering from Covid-19 recovered in past 24 hours.

The overall figures indicate since the outbreak of the pandemic, a total of 53,538 people got infected with the virus in Afghanistan and 2288 lost their lives to it. All in all some 214,634 individuals underwent the tests and 43,948 recovered after initially getting infected.
