KANDAHAR CITY (SW) – Local officials in Kandahar said on Monday the police headquarters in Damaan district has been targeted in a suicide car bombing.
Spokesman for the provincial governor, Baheer Ahmadi, said the incident took place at around 10:00 a.m. He said a meeting was underway at the district police headquarters when the attack took place. Ahmadi said a total of 34 people, including 9 policemen, 7 civil servants and 15 civilians got injured in this attack.
Confirming report of the attack, the interior ministry spokesman Tariq Arian said in initial report that at least 11 people got injured in the bombing.
There has been no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
