Blast in Kabul kills 8 people, 15 wounded

 

KABUL (SW) – At least eight people got killed and 15 others got wounded following a blast in the fifth police district in Kabul, authorities confirmed.

The interior ministry said in a statement that the blast was caused by a magnetic bomb aimed at Khan Mohammad Wardak, a member of the Wolesi Jirga (lower house). He is believed to have sustained injuries in this attack.

Tariq Arian, the interior ministry spokesman, said children and women are among those killed and wounded in this attack. He added private property in the vicinity also got damaged.

There has been no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.

Separately, five civilians got injured following an identical blast in Pul-e-Alam, capital of Logar province. Spokesman for the police headquarters, Shahpur Ahmadzai said the blast took place close to the Ghazni Square are in the city.
