Health ministry confirms 11 more deaths to Covid-19

KABUL (SW) – Fresh figures by the health ministry indicate at least 11 people lost their lives to the coronavirus and 252 new cases of the Covid-19 got confirmed in past 24 hours.

The Ministry of Public Health announced in its report on Sunday that up to 1,387 patients suspected of having the virus were tested. It said during this while some 87 Covid-19 patients got treated and recovered.

According to the MoPH, new incidents have been reported in eight provinces. Of these, 153 cases emerged from Takhar, 48 in Kabul, 15 in Badakhshan, 13 in Herat, 13 in Nangarhar, 8 in Kandahar and one in Maidan Wardak and Laghman provinces.

Among the dead, 4 died in Takhar, 3 in Kabul, 3 in Herat and 1 in Balkh after being infected with the virus.

According to the Ministry, all in all more than 147,800 people across the country have been tested for the virus. Among them, statistics by the MoPH showed, 46,215 people across the country have been confirmed to be infected and 1,763 people losing their lives to it.

It said altogether 36,731 people have been treated after contracting the virus.
