29 people killed in car bombings in Ghazni, Zabul

GHAZNI, ZABUL (SW) – At least 29 people got killed and 30 others got injured following two back-to-back suicide attacks in Ghazni and Zabul provinces.

Chairman of provincial council in Ghazni, Naseer Ahmad, said a suicide car bombing targeted security forces in the third police district. According to head of the public hospital, Baz Mohammad Himmat, at least 21 people lost lives and 17 others got injured in this attack. He claimed all victims are civilians.

The interior ministry, however, reported that this suicide car bombing took place in the Deh Ya, district, and was aimed at a security base.

There has been no immediate claim of responsibility.

In neighboring Zabul province, the chairman of provincial council Atta Jan survived a deadly suicide car bombing aimed at his convoy. Two people got killed and 13 others got injured in this attack, according to the provincial police command.

There has been no immediate claim of responsibility for this attack either.
