Head of Daesh’s suicide attack operations arrested

JALALABAD (SW) – Authorities in Nangarhar claimed to have arrested head of suicide attack operations of the Daesh terrorist organization.

The Nangarhar governor’s press office said in a statement that the operation was carried out in Jalalabad, the provincial capital. The press office of the governor has named the person in charge of the suicide attacks as “Mohammad Nabi” also known as “Ayoubi”.

According to the press release issued by the Nangarhar governor’s press office, Amin, a shadow judge of the group’s kangaroo courts, was killed in clash with the security forces. This shadow judge was also known as “Muawiyah”, the statement added.

During the operation, the National Directorate of Security forces seized some weapons and military equipment of the group, the statement added.

Nangarhar is known as one of the strongholds of the group in eastern Afghanistan.

Last year, President Ashraf Ghani claimed the complete annihilation of the group during a visit to Nangarhar. However, militants associated with the group continue to stage terrorist attacks here.
