According to The Guardian, Pakistan’s military said attacks by the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) in Balochistan province yesterday killed 33 people, including civilians, while security forces killed 92 attackers in response.
The attacks took place simultaneously across twelve areas and targeted civilians, police stations, a high-security prison, paramilitary sites, and railways, causing widespread damage.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said some of the attackers’ plans were foiled and claimed the militants were backed by India, calling the attacks the work of “Fitna-al-Hindustan,” a charge New Delhi has previously denied.
Provincial officials said many attacks were stopped, security forces are pursuing the insurgents, train services were suspended, and hospitals declared an emergency.
The BLA said the attacks were part of the second phase of their “Operation Heroof.”
