MONITORING (SW) – The Ministry of Mines and Petroleum (MoMP) of the Islamic Emirate held a significant meeting on March 18, with a high-level delegation from Uzbekistan.
The meeting was attended by Behzad Mermodov, Advisor to the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology of Uzbekistan, and the General Director of Uzbekistan’s mining companies.
The discussions centered on enhancing investment opportunities and fostering collaboration in Afghanistan’s mining sector, with a focus on joint projects in exploration, extraction, and processing of mineral resources.
During the discussions, Minister Badri emphasized that the ministry is working to create more investment opportunities in the mining sector for both national and international investors.
Mermodov, in turn, spoke about the “Tuti Maidan” gas project and the iron mine in “Khish”, Maidan Wardak, stressing the need for cooperation from the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum in these areas.
Minister Badri welcomed the delegation’s interest and assured them of necessary support and collaboration moving forward.
