PUL-I-KHUMRI (SW) – Security officials in Baghlan have confirmed that unknown gunmen attacked worshippers at a shrine in the old town of Nahrin district in this province, killing 10 of the worshippers.
Shir Ahmad Barhani, spokesman for the Baghlan Police Command, stated that 10 residents of Nahrin district, who were performing “dhikr” (practice of remembering and praising Allah) at the “Sayed Padshah Agha Sadaat” shrine, were killed in the attack.
Abdul Ghafoor Khadem, head of security for the Baghlan Police Command, also mentioned that police forces arrived at the scene promptly and arrested several suspects in connection with the incident.
The head of security for the Baghlan Police Command added that investigations are ongoing in this case.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
