UK donates 6 million pounds to Afghanistan’s humanitarian fund

MONITORING (SW) – The United Kingdom has contributed 6 million pounds to Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund (AHF), according to OCHA.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Afghanistan announced this development on Thursday, September 12, via its X account but did not specify how the funds will be allocated.

The organization noted that the UK remains the largest donor to Afghanistan’s humanitarian fund.

Since 2014, the UK has donated over £304 million to this fund, as reported by OCHA.

Previously, UN-related agencies have stated that nearly 24 million people, including 12.3 million children, in Afghanistan are in need of humanitarian assistance this year.
