KABUL (SW) – The Afghan Embassy in Muscat, the capital of Oman has been handed over to the Islamic Emirate, confirmed a de-facto official.
Zia Ahmad Takal, the deputy spokesperson for the de-facto Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated on Tuesday, September 17, via a post on his X account that the embassy’s operations were restarted on Sunday of the previous week.
The ministry highlighted that the reactivation of the Afghan Embassy in Oman plays a crucial role in strengthening political, economic, social, and religious relations between the Islamic Emirate administration and Oman.
The statement noted, “The Afghan Embassy in Muscat is operating systematically under the oversight of diplomats from the Islamic Emirate’s ministry of Foreign Affairs.”
To date, the Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not commented on the transfer of the Afghan Embassy to the Islamic Emirate diplomats.
The embassies of Afghanistan in Pakistan, Iran, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirate, Qatar, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan have also been handed over to the Taliban administration.
