KABUL (SW) – Abdul Latif Mansoor, Acting Director of the Ministry of Energy and Water has said while visiting a number of water dams in Logar that water management is among the priorities of the government.
He promised the residents of this province that the Ministry of Energy and Water is trying to start work on a number of water dams in Logar province. Mansoor added the Islamic Emirate is committed to water management and is trying day and night to start working on those dams that can get more water and energy at a lower cost.
He also promised during his visit to the “Ibatak” dam site in the district of Khyati that the construction of this dam will begin.
On the other hand, the deputy governor of Logar, Inayatullah Shuja, said that it is important for the economic development of Logar residents to rebuild the existing water dams in Pul Alam, Charekh, Mohammad Agha and Kharwar districts. He added that if the Islamic Emirate invests in the dams for the water management of Logar, the people of this province will make significant improvements in agriculture and electricity.
According to him, the first survey of the dams of Logar and Kharwar districts has been done and it is planned to start the practical works of their reconstruction in the near future.
The residents of Logar also want the ministry to invest in the water dams of Surkh Ab, Moulana Yaqoob Charkhi in Mohammad Agha district, Maulana Yaqoob Charkhi in Charakh district, Abtak in Pashti district and Kharwar district.
