Public holiday announced to mark re-establishment of the Islamic Emirate

KABUL (SW) – The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has declared Tuesday as a public holiday to mark anniversary of the exit of the US forces from Afghanistan.
The ministry has issued a statement saying that on the occasion of the second anniversary of the “victory of the Islamic Emirate” in Afghanistan, a public holiday throughout the country would be marked on Tuesday 15 August.
The announcement states: “Tuesday, equal to 24 Asad 1402 Hijri, coincided with the victory day of the jihad of the Afghan people under the leadership of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan against America and its allies. According to the calendar approved by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, it is a public holiday in the country.”
Almost two years ago, the Islamic Emirate regained power in Afghanistan after the fall of the Republic.
Last year, on the occasion of the first anniversary of the establishment of the Islamic Emirate, the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs declared a public holiday throughout the country.
