Drop in fund forces WFP to limit food aid recipients

KABU (SW) – The World Food Program (WFP) has said that due to the lack of funds, the number of aid recipients in Afghanistan has been reduced.

The World Food Program has stated that it needs $ 1.2 billion to help the needy in the coming winter across Afghanistan. The food charity has stated that isome 28.8 million Afghans need humanitarian aid this year.

According to the information of the World Food Program, it is estimated that from May to October of this year, 15.3 million people will face severe shortage of food. According to the WFP, 2.8 million people are facing food insecurity and 3.2 million children under five years of age are suffering from severe malnutrition.

The World Food Program has stated that due to the lack of funds, it is forced to remove 8 million people from their emergency aid recipients list.
