Registration of people with disabilities, survivors of martyrs resumes

KABUL (SW) – The biometric registration process of people with disabilities and survivors of “martyrs” has resumed.

Abdul Hakim Haqqani, Deputy Minister of Martyrs and Disabled Affairs, has said that the process of biometrics of people with disabilities and survivors of “martyrs” has been resumed across Afghanistan.

According to him, the survivors of “martyrs” and people with disabilities in all provinces, by having an application and documents that specify their identity and getting an approval from the authority of their respective province, can send their requests to the “martyrs and disabled” directorates for consideration.

Officials at the Ministry of Martyrs and Disabled People’s Affairs say that the compensation of the heirs of “martyrs” and people with disabilities during the republic period are also paid without discrimination.

Kalimullah Afghan, the financial and administrative affairs director of this ministry, says that 12 billion afghanis have been allocated to this ministry in the current solar year and efforts are being made to start paying the salaries of people with disabilities and the survivors of “martyrs” before the arrival of Eid al-Adha.

According to the statistics of the Ministry of Martyrs and the Disabled, 190,000 people with disabilities, 80,000 women without guardians, and 350,000 children of “martyrs” are registered in this ministry for support.
