Daesh takes responsibility for suicide bombing in Badakhshan

MONITORING (SW) – The Khorasan branch of the Daesh group has taken responsibility for the suicide attack on Thursday during the prayer ceremony of Nisar Ahmad Ahmadi, the deputy governor of Badakhshan province who was killed in an earlier car bombing.

Reuters news agency has quoted the statement of the ISIS group in this connection, which said the attack was carried out by a suicide bomber of this group.

At around 11:00 am on Thursday, a suicide attack occurred in the Prophet’s Mosque, in the first part of the new city of Faizabad, the center of Badakhshan.

Muazuddin Ahmadi, the head of information and culture department in Badakhshan, said that 13 people were killed, including Safiullah Samim, the former commander of Baghlan security, as a result of this suicide attack in a mosque.

According to him, more than 30 people have been injured. He described the nature of the event as suicide.

Earlier, Nisar Ahmad Ahmadi, the deputy and acting governor of Badakhshan province, was killed on Tuesday in a suicide attack that was also claimed by Daesh.
