FAIZABAD (SW) – A number of residents of Baharak district of Badakhshan complain about the lack of medical equipment and professional personnel in the government hospital of this district.

Sahar, a resident of Bharak district, told Salam Watandar that the patients of this district are facing many problems in receiving health services. According to him, due to the lack of health equipment in the government hospital of this district, people are deprived of access to many health services.

Sahar adadded”I personally went there. The hospital director said on local radio that the dental department has been activated, fillings, extractions and washing of the teeth will be done, but this was not the case. When I left, they just registered me and referred me to a private clinic. Another problem we have is that there is a shortage of ambulances in our hospital. Because some patients who are transferred to the provincial hospital do not have another ambulance, there is only one that cannot go to far places.”

Faiz Mohammad, another resident of Bharak district, said that the government hospital of this district does not have the ability to treat patients. He urged the health officials of Badakhshan to take care of people’s problems.

Faiz Mohammad aadded “One of the major and important problems we have in the government hospital of Bharak district is that, firstly, there are no doctors/specialists, and secondly, there are many patients. When they arrive at the hospital with many problems, they are not taken care of.”

However, the officials of the public hospital told Salam Watandar that they operate according to the principles of the Ministry of Public Health. They added that they use all the facilities at their disposal to provide services to patients 24 hours a day.

Allahnazar Sakhi, the director of Bharak government hospital, said that this hospital has enough equipment and medicine. He added: “According to the policy of the Ministry of Public Health, we are working, our ambulance fleet is enough. In the second step, our medicine is also enough and even too much. We have no problem with the services we provide to people. We don’t have any problems in terms of facilities, and we don’t have any problems in terms of equipment either.”

It should be mentioned that some time ago, some residents of Bharak district of Badakhshan also complained about the harsh behavior of the health personnel of the government hospital of this district.
