KABUL (SW) – On the continuation of efforts to develop ties with countries of the region, the Islamic Emirate has assigned ten fresh diplomats to different capitals, said an official.

Bilal Karimi, the deputy spokesman of the Islamic Emirate, told Salam Watandar that, along with the activities and coordination of the diplomats of the previous government with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the current government, new diplomats and ambassadors are appointed to more than ten countries of the region.

According to Bilal Karimi, efforts are being made to develop relations with the countries of the region. He added that at the moment, the newly appointed diplomats in nearly 15 countries are carrying out consular affairs.

He said: “There are directions in place that the diplomats of the previous administration remain there and coordinate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to carry out consular affairs, and the other part is that there are nearly 15 countries where we appointed new diplomats.”

This is at a time when no country has recognized the government of the Islamic Emirate in Afghanistan. Political affairs analyst Tariq Farhadi says that the countries of the region entrust Afghanistan’s political representation to the Islamic Emirate due to economic and trade relations.

He said: “The countries of the region should hand over their consulates to the government. In order to facilitate trade, these countries are interested in these areas. Refugees are sent back to Afghanistan and they need the cooperation of the government in Kabul.”

Political activist Wais Nasiri said that the countries of the region and the world have practical relations with the Islamic Emirate based on necessity, and no country will recognize the Islamic Emirate soon.

He said: “There are two types of identity in international relations and diplomacy, one is de facto and the other is de jure. De facto is a practical relationship between countries which is a vital relationship. De jour is legal under international relations. Even if the consulates and embassies are given, the building is not worth it.”

Despite the fact that nearly two years have passed since the Islamic Emirate came to power, the caretaker government of the Islamic Emirate has not yet been recognized by the international community due to the lack of respect for human rights in the country and the failure to establish an inclusive government.
