CHARIKAR (SW) – The local officials in Parwan say that as a result of the flood in Charikar city, the capital of this province, farmers and local residents have faced financial losses.
According to them, the rain and hail have caused a lot of damage to the residents of the central parts of this city and to the crops of the farmers.
Seyed Hekmatullah Shamim, the spokesman of the governor of Parwan, told Salam Watandar: “We don’t have all the details about the amount of casualties and financial and human losses, however, parts of Charikar city, the directorate of immigrants and returnees affairs, roadside peddlers’ stalls, bridges and culverts and a number of residential houses in this city have been destroyed as a result of floods full of water, mudslides and mudslides.”
Mr. Shamim stated that the reason for water falling in shops and residential houses is the narrowness of the gutters on the sides of the roads.
Abdul Aleem Ahmed, head of natural disaster preparedness in Parwan, confirmed that the flooding in this province has caused financial losses to a number of shops, 35 residential houses and a number of roadside vendors. “As a result of these floods, 10 bridges and culverts have been closed and several meters of road have been destroyed, but so far, the exact amount of damages caused by these floods is not available.”
On the other hand, Azizullah Omar, the Parwan security commander, emphasized that the fire team of this command went to drain the water from inside the residential houses.
Residents of Charikar city state that the narrowness of the roads and the water channels on the sides of the roads are the main reason for water entering the houses.
They have asked the Islamic Emirate to address this problem. They say that if the government does not address this problem, they will witness more losses every year.
In addition, the famous purple flowers of the Gul Ghundi hill, which is located on the slopes of the Parvan mountains, fell to the ground and the blossoms of the fruit trees also fell to the ground and were damaged as a result of the hailstorm.
