KABUL (SW) – China has pledged to cut down duty on imports from Afghanistan, said an official on Thursday.

Wang Yu, the Chinese ambassador in Kabul, has said that his country will reduce the tax tariff on 98% of Afghan products to zero from December 1st.

The Chinese ambassador in Kabul wrote on his Twitter on Thursday that this decision is to implement China’s beneficial and win-win bilateral strategy and help Afghanistan to accelerate development.

Dry fruits, including pine nuts, carpets, precious and semi-precious stones and talc, are among Afghanistan’s export items, some of which are exported to China.

China is at the top of the list of exporters of commercial goods to Afghanistan.

It is said that electrical appliances, clothes, industrial raw materials and other consumer goods are among the items imported by Afghanistan from China.
