Floods claim seven lives in Maidan Wardak, Khost

KHOST (SW) – Sources in Khost and Maidan Wardak confirmed to Salam Watandar that seven people have died as a result of flooding in these two provinces.

Sources in Khost say that there was a flood last night in Nader Shahkot district of this province due to heavy rain and as a result four members of one family including two children lost their lives.

According to the sources, these four people were riding in a car that was swept away by the flood and all four of them died.

On the other hand, a family member of these people told Salam Watandar that last night the flood took away four members of their family and all four of them died.

These four people were the inhabitants of Paktia. The local authorities of Khost have not yet said anything about this.

Meanwhile, last night, the flood in Maidan Wardak province also claimed the lives of three people.

Faizullah Jalali, the head of natural disasters manage in Maidan Wardak, told Salam Watandar that three people have lost their lives as a result of the flood in Jalriz district of this province and huge financial losses have been caused to the people.

In addition to this, floods occurred last night in a number of other provinces of the country after heavy rains and caused huge casualties and financial losses to the people.
