“50 percent of imaginary martyrs and disabled people were getting salaries”

KABUL (SW) – Kalimullah Afghan, Director of Finance and Administration of the Ministry of Martyrs and Disabled Affairs, told a press conference in Kabul today that many imaginary families have received privileges in the name of martyrs and disabled people.

Kalimullah Afghan added that in the past one year, the officials are examining the documents of the families of the martyrs and disabled people of all provinces, and according to him, 30 to 50 percent of imaginary martyrs and disabled people were present in record and they used to get the privileges.

Officials of the Ministry of Martyrs and Disabled Affairs today, while presenting the annual report, said that in the past one year, they have paid the salaries of the first six months of the current year to nearly 70,000 disabled people and more than 100,000 families of martyrs.

They added that there is no discrimination in granting the rights of the martyrs and the disabled and those who have the complete documents of martyrdom or disability of any family member, they will be given monthly pension after registration.

Currently, 117,459 disabled people and 127,500 widows and orphans are registered with the Ministry of Martyrs and Disabled.

At the same time, Deputy Minister of Martyrs and Disabled Sheikh Abdul Hakim Haqqani said that this year he was given a budget of 13.5 billion afghanis, according to him, 2000 afghanis are allocated for each martyr’s family and 5000 afghanis for widows who do not have children.
