No change of policy can be enforced on Islamic Emirate, says senior official

KABUL (SW) – A top Islamic Emirate officials has asserted that no change of policy can be enforced from outside in Afghanistan.

Mohammad Khaled Hanafi, Acting Minister of the Ministry of Enjoining the Good and Forbidding the Evil, has said during his visit to Paktia province that despite international pressure, the Islamic Emirate will not give up on the its policies and will work for the stability of the Islamic system.

He added that the ministry under his command has issued other decrees in order to strengthen the Islamic system. Hanafi emphasized that the Islamic Emirate wants to interact with the world, but this interaction should not mean “slavery”.

He also said that America’s involvement in Afghanistan is still ongoing and that they have never violated the rules of Islam and are moving forward based on their decisions.

This is despite the fact that since the return to power of the Islamic Emirate, his ministry has issued a number of decrees regarding women’s hijab, men’s beards and a number of other issues, which, according to minister Hanafi, are only recommendations.
