GARDIZ (SW) – The historic Bala Hisar Fort in Paktia province has sustained damages due to the ongoing spate of heavy rains, said officials.
The local officials of Paktia say that the recent rains in this province have damaged some parts of the historical building of Bala Hisar and it is facing the threat of collapse.
Director of Information and Culture of Paktia Khaliqyar Ahmadzai told Salam Watandar that Gardiz’s historic Bala Hisar is under threat of collapse due to recent rains and some parts of it have also collapsed.
According to him, if the reconstruction of the historic fort is not taken care of and the works are not started on time, it may collapse. Khaliqyar also added that he has discussed this matter with the provincial authority and will take the matter to the Ministry of Information and Culture.
