KABUL (SW) – The fire in the Tetan Valley in Nuristan has not been contained, said the officials.
A local source in Nuristan told Salam Watandar that the fire in the Tetan Valley forest in the province has not been completely contained.
According to the source, the locals are working with the authorities to control the fire as soon as possible.
Earlier, Nuristan governor’s spokesman Saifuddin Latoon confirmed the incident and said that serious efforts were being made to control the fire, but did not immediately comment on the current state of the fire.
According to reports, the forest fire has been raging in the area since Tuesday night. It is worth mentioning that a forest fire broke out in Nuristan a week ago and lasted for several days.
Although officials have not released any details about the damage, locals say a number of large trees and shrubs have been destroyed.
