SAR-E-PUL (SW) – Local officials in Sar-e-Pul say floods in the province have caused heavy casualties and financial losses to residents.
Omar Sarpoli, head of information and culture in Sar-e-Pul, told Salamutandar that lightning and floods had killed two children in the village of Al-Asgar in the central province and another in the village of Dehik in Sancharak district.
According to Sar-e-Pul Information and Culture Director, seven other people were injured in Kohistanat district of the province.
Mr. Sarpoli adds that three courtyards, dozens of crops, more than 40 meters of retaining walls and hundreds of acres of agricultural land have also been destroyed.
Earlier, the Meteorological Department warned of heavy rains and floods in 14 provinces.
