KABUL (SW) – The Security Council is scheduled to meet on Thursday to discuss the situation in Afghanistan.
The Office of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has issued a statement saying that the UN Secretary-General will present his report on Afghanistan at the meeting.
The statement said that Rams Al-Akbarov, the UN Humanitarian Coordinator for Afghanistan, would also report to the Security Council as part of the meeting.
The UN Security Council has previously held several meetings to review the situation in Afghanistan. Although the agenda of today’s meeting has not been made public yet, it is said that the recent deadly earthquake will also be discussed.
