HERAT CITY (SW) – The power production at Salma Dam in Herat has returned to normal, said the power utility, said Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat.
The DABS has night announced in a newsletter that the third turbine at the Salma Dam in Herat had been reactivated. It added that the dam’s electricity generation had returned to normal. DABS added that the company’s technical staff had repaired the third turbine and linked it to the electricity grid.
According to power utility’s newsletter, the three turbines currently generate more than 30 megawatts of electricity. The company has said that it is paying close attention to the maintenance and upkeep of electricity facilities while making optimal use of internal sources of electricity generation.
The DABS announced about the activation of the third turbine at a time when lack of spring rains has caused concerns about drought in the country.
