Islamic Emirate takes control of Embassy of Afghanistan in Moscow

KABUL (SW) – The Russian authorities have agreed to handover control of the Embassy of Afghanistan to the Islamic Emirate’s diplomatic team, confirmed officials on Saturday.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman Abdul Qahar Balkhi wrote on his Twitter account that the Afghan embassy in Moscow was handed over to a diplomat sent by the Islamic Emirate today.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs thanks the Government of the Russian Federation for accrediting the Afghan diplomat and facilitating the role of the Afghan Embassy in facilitating bilateral relations and providing timely services to its citizens in Russia”, he tweeted.

He added that as a the legitimate government, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has the right to take responsibility for the management of Afghanistan’s political representation abroad and to interact responsibly with the world.
