Clash broke out between Islamic Emirate forces, Pakistani border guards

MONITORING (SW) – Local officials in Paktia say clashes broke out late last night between Pakistani troops and Islamic Emirate border guards in the Dandaptan district of the province near the Durand Line.

Khaliqyar Ahmadzai, Paktia’s director of information and culture, confirmed the incident to Salam Watandar, saying that Pakistani troops had fired on Islamic Emirate forces in the Shapuli area of ​​Dandaptan district, and that clashes had broken out between the two sides.

The head of information and culture of Paktia added that the forces of the Islamic Emirate were not harmed in this conflict and they have no information about the other side. Residents also confirmed the clashes, saying that the two sides fired at each other for several hours.

Earlier this week, Pakistani troops launched airstrikes on the Spiri district of Khost, killing civilians. Separately, artillery shells were fired by the Pakistani military into the Shelton Kunar district, targeting civilians.

These attacks have provoked reactions at home and abroad. In response to these attacks, protest demonstrations were staged in Khost, Nangarhar and other provinces.
