KABUL (SW) – Analysts have criticized the Islamic Emirate’s mummed response to Pakistan’s air strike in Khost and shelling on Kunar province.
Political analysts see the Islamic Emirate’s response to Pakistani airstrikes as very weak. Javid Momand, a political analyst, told Salam Watandar that under diplomatic norms, when an ambassador is summoned, he or she must provide satisfactory answers and be communicated to the public through the media.
Momand added that the action of the Islamic Emirate is not enough and it is necessary to cut off political ties with Islamabad for a while. “If we are independent and sovereign, our response should reflect that. One action is to summon the ambassador, the other is to cut off diplomatic relations for a while and close their embassies so that they understand that the soil and blood of the Afghan people are not so worthless.”
Meanwhile, Mehdi Afzali, another political analyst, described Pakistan’s attacks on Afghan soil as violating Islamic, humanitarian and international laws. He said that the Islamic Emirate, which is not recognized and is under pressure due to the restriction of women’s rights and the inability to educate girls above the sixth grade, and no one is satisfied with it due to many wrong policies, can not react more seriously against Pakistan.
Afzali added that by doing so, Pakistan wants to show the world that it has nothing to do with the Islamic Emirate and wants to take practical steps in the fight against terrorism in order to gain political and economic benefits from the international community.
Earlier this week, Pakistani troops launched airstrikes on the Spiri district of Khost, killing civilians. Separately, artillery shells were fired by the Pakistani military into the Shelton Kunar district, targeting civilians.
These attacks have provoked reactions at home and abroad. In response to these attacks, protest demonstrations were staged in Khost, Nangarhar and other provinces.
