1500 fresh troops deployed to Bamyan

BAMYAN CITY (SW) – A fresh batch of 1,500 security forces has been sent to improve security in Bamyan province, announced the defense ministry on Tuesday.

The force is equipped with light and heavy weapons from the 203 – Mansouri Corps.

Enayatullah Khwarazmi, spokesman for the Ministry of National Defense of the Islamic Emirate, confirmed the relocation of the armed forces in Bamyan and told Salam Watandar that the troops had been relocated to provide security in the province. “Before this, there was not enough force there, the presence of force everywhere is a need,” he added.

According to the spokesman for the Ministry of National Defense, there is no military movement against the Islamic Emirate in Bamyan.

However, according to some media reports, Mullah Mohammad Shirin, the commander of the 1,500-strong convoy of the Islamic Emirate forces, has said at a meeting in Bamyan that some ‘foreign meddling’ was underway.

According to Mr. Shirin, neighboring countries are also intervening in Bamyan. B,ut he did not specify which neighbors he meant.

Ghulam Mohammad Bakhtiari, head of the plan and operation of the 5th Brigade of the 203rd Mansouri Corps, also said the same at the meeting:

Meanwhile, a number of influential people in Bamyan province say that the purpose of the arrival of the armed forces of the Islamic Emirate in this province is not clear to them. However, according to them, the commanders of these forces have taken the impression that the Islamic Emirate will suppress any military action or movement of its opponents in Bamyan.

Mohammad Sajjad Mohseni, an influential member of Bamyan, told Salam Watandar that 1,500 forces of the Islamic Emirate have come to Bamyan. “The commanders of these forces said in their speeches that they have come to ensure the security and comfort of the people of Bamyan, but it is not clear what these forces have in mind.”

According to the source, two days ago, at least 7 members of the Islamic Emirate were killed and wounded in a clash in Tala Wa Barfak district of Baghlan province. The source added that Siddiqullah Shahin Mosafer, Bamyan police chief, had traveled to the district for reconciliation between the two sides.
