KABUL (SW) – The designated foreign minister by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Amir Khan Muttaqi met Ahmad Massoud, leader of the National Resistance Front in Tehran, confirmed an official on Monday.
Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman for the Islamic Emirate, said that the Islamic Emirate delegation had met with Ahmad Massoud, leader of the National Resistance Front, and Mohammad Ismail Khan, a jihadi leader and member of the Front in Tehran, the capital of Iran.
The spokesman said in a series of tweets that the delegation of the Islamic Emirate, headed by Amir Khan Muttaqi , Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, had assured Ahmad Massoud and Mohammad Ismail Khan that they could return to the country without any worries.
Mujahid added that the Islamic Emirate is trying to make the future of the country reliable for everyone and leave no reason for anyone to oppose it.
Hafiz Mansour, a member of the National Resistance Front, also met with some media outlets and confirmed the dialogue between the delegation of this front and the delegation of the Islamic Emirate headed by Amir Khan Muttaqi , but he did not provide further details about the meeting.
On the other hand, yesterday, there were reports that the Afghan embassy in Tehran had surrendered to the Islamic Emirate.
But, Saeed Khatibzada, spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that the diplomatic activity of the Afghan embassy in Tehran, like all foreign embassies, is within the framework of the principles and rules defined in the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and no outside change is possible.
Ahmad Massoud, the son of Ahmad Shah Massoud, went to Panjshir on the eve of the fall of Kabul to the Islamic Emirate, where he formed a resistance front against the Islamic Emirate. Talks between the National Resistance Front and the Islamic Emirate were held at that time, but to no avail, and the forces of the Islamic Emirate captured Panjshir.
