Forex trader gunned down by unknown gunmen

HERAT CITY (SW) – A currency trader has been gunned down by unknown gunmen in the Herat city, capital of Herat province, confirmed officials on Sunday.

Herat security officials and some family members of the currency trader confirmed that Abdul Rahim Siddiqui, a well-known trader in the province, was taken from his house in the center of Herat city by unknown gunmen at around 7 pm last night (Saturday, January 8) and was later killed.

Mahmoud Rasouli, press officer of the Herat Police Command, told Salam Watandar that the incident took place on Khajeh Abdullah Ansari Street in the 8th district of Herat city. According to him, no one has been arrested in connection with this incident and the forces of the Islamic Emirate are trying to identify and arrest the perpetrators of this incident.

Some members of the trader’s  family also say that Siddiqui was shot dead by unknown gunmen on his way home.

Abdul Wajid, a family member of the trader, called on the authorities of the Islamic Emirate to identify and arrest the perpetrators of this incident.

According to reports, this is the first incident in which a currency trader has been killed since the beginning of the Islamic Emirate’s rule in Herat.
