KABUL (SW) – The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has announced to guard the Durand Line with Pakistan with at least 150 security forces on 32 posts in the eastern provinces.
Clashes erupted recently along the Durand Line in Nangarhar and Kunar provinces between Afghanistan and Pakistan as the Islamic Emirate prevented the Pakistani military from establishing fencing facilities.
The First Frontier Brigade in the eastern regions has now given vocational training to 150 new soldiers, who officials say are moving along the Durand Line.
Mawlawi Sanaullah Sangin Fateh, commander of the border forces, said at the soldiers’ graduation ceremony that they would be stationed at 32 newly established checkpoints along the Durand Line. According to him, the construction of roads for the newly established checkpoints in the areas is underway, which will be completed soon.
“These troops are being relocated to the 32 checkpoints we have just set up at the zero point,” Fateh added. “The construction of the roads of these checkpoints is also underway and they will be ready for use in the next few days.”
He further said the Islamic Emirate plans to train another 300 soldiers for three months to prepare for security along the Durand Line. He assured the Islamic Emirate forces are fully prepared to defend the people and their territory.
The newly graduated soldiers said on the occasion they have received 45 days of professional training and are able to properly protect their soil.
This is the first time that the border forces of the Islamic Emirate in the eastern regions are deployed in important areas after graduation.
Locals want the security forces of the Islamic Emirate to protect the remote areas along the Durand Line and not allow Pakistan to carry out arbitrary actions as in the past.
