15 of a family injured in gas cylinder blast

GARDEZ (SW) – A blast reportedly caused by a gas cylinder in Paktia province has injured at least 15 members of a single family. 

Officials of the Paktia Department of Information and Culture say that 15 members of a family were injured in the explosion of a gas cylinder in the second security district of Gardiz city, the capital of the province.

Khaleqiar Ahmadzai, Paktia’s director of information and culture, told Salam Watandar that the incident took place late this evening (Saturday, December 18) due to the carelessness of the family members and injured 15 people.

This event has also inflicted huge financial losses to this family.

Paktia’s director of information and culture added that women and children were among the injured. According to him, the injured were taken to Paktia District Hospital.

Khaleqiar Ahmadzai also says that the condition of the four wounded is serious and they have been transferred to Kabul for treatment.

Such explosions of gas cylinders in the country are not unprecedented during winter times.
