GHOR (SW) – At least four people, including two alleged kidnappers, got killed in Ghor province, Taliban confirmed on Sunday.
Officials of the Taliban’s Islamic Emirate in Ghor said that the incident took place last night in Firuzkuh, the capital of the province.
Mohammad Sadeq Rasas, deputy director of the Taliban’s intelligence unit in Gor, said the kidnappers shot at Taliban forces after they abducted and shot dead two Hazara community members. According to him, the kidnappers were riding in a taxi.
Meanwhile, Shamsullah Tariqat, the Taliban’s deputy governor for Ghor, described the kidnappers as alleged Daesh militants, and said they have begun an investigation. He added that their forces have been searching for details at the site off scene since this morning.
On the other hand, Mullah Mahmoud Ahmadi, the director of Ghor provincial hospital, said that one person was killed and one was injured around 10 pm last night and were taken to the hospital.
Some local sources in Ghor said in this connection that some members of the Taliban were also killed in the clashes. The claim has been denied by the officials of the Islamic Emirate in this province.
No individual or group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
