Night curfew imposed amid mounting Taliban assaults

KABUL (SW) – Amid ensuing Taliban attacks, the government on Saturday declared night curfew in 31 provinces of the country.

As per the interior ministry, apart from the Kabul as well as neighboring Nangarhar and Panjshir provinces, the curfew would be imposed across the country from 10:00 p.m. in the night till 4:00 a.m. in the morning.

The ministry’s spokesman Ahmad Zia Zia urged citizens to refrain from traveling in their cities and neighborhoods after 10 pm as the law enforcement agencies have been directed to ensure implementation of the night curfew.

Meanwhile, the defense ministry on Saturday announced that 262 Taliban terrorists were killed and 176 were wounded as a result of counter-terrorism operations in Laghman, Nangarhar, Nuristan, Kunar, Ghazni, Paktia, Kandahar, Herat, Balkh, Jowzjan, Helmand, Kunduz and Kapisa provinces during the last 24 hours.
