KABUL (SW) – At least ten coronavirus patients lost their lives during the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Public Health confirmed on Saturday.
According to the MoPH, a total of 1493 suspected patients were tested for COVID-19 in this period out of which 242 turned out to be positive. The new cases have been registered in fourteen provinces.
In the same period, 96 patients recovered after initially contracting the virus, it added. According to statistics by the Ministry of Public Health, since the pandemic, a total of 443,823 tests have been conducted nationwide out of which 65,728 proved positive.

In this while, at least 2802 patients lost their lives and 55,886 recovered after contracting the virus.
Globally, an estimated 166 million people have contracted the virus while some 3.4 million have lost their lives and over 147 million recovered.
The United States, India, Brazil, France, Turkey, and Russia are among the worst affected countries.
