Road accident claims 7 lives in Kabul’s Paghman district

KABUL (SW) – At least seven passengers lost their lives and dozens of others got injured following a traffic accident in the Paghman district of Kabul province, officials said on Tuesday.

According to the interior ministry spokesman Tariq Arian, the incident took place late last evening in the Arghanday area when two passenger busses collided with each other. He said women and children are among the victims of this accident.

Authorities blamed reckless driving for the accident. The injured were rushed to the public hospital in nearby Maidan city.

Separately, an over speeding mini-bus overturned injuring at least eight passengers on the main Ghor – Herat highway. The Shahrak district’s governor Mohammad Kabiri told Salam Watandar the incident took place Tuesday morning. The driver was said to be in critical state.
