KABUL (SW) – The health ministry on Wednesday announced that 1,877 patients suspected of having coronavirus were tested in past 24 hours out of whom 206 proved positive.
The Ministry of Public Health also confirmed seven more deaths to the COVID-19 in this period. The new cases have been reported in 15 provinces. In the last 24 hours, 180 patients recovered after contracting the virus.
According to the Ministry of Public Health, so far 400,412 people across the country have been tested for coronavirus. Of these, 59,576 people were found to have been infected with the virus and 2,618 have lost their lives due to the virus. Similarly, 52,974 people have recovered from the onset of the pandemic.
On Tuesday, officials warned that given the spread of the corona virus in the country, if the people do not take corona seriously and ignore health recommendations, Afghanistan will also suffer the same fate as India.
Acting Minister of Public Health Waheed Majrooh said during the nationwide campaign that Afghanistan has entered the third wave of the pandemic, which is more threatening than the first and second.
According to him, if people do not follow health recommendations, do not pay attention to social distancing and do not wear masks, there is a fear that Afghanistan will experience difficult days like India. Majrooh urged people to go to health centers for vaccination.
