Road accident injures 12 people in Herat

HERAT CITY (SW) – At least 12 people got injured following a road accident in Pashtun Zarghun district of Herat province, officials confirmed.

Mohammad Rafiq Sherzai, spokesman for the Herat Health Department, told Salam Watandar that a fast-moving passenger car deviated from the road and overturned on the main highway at around 11 a.m. According to Sherzai, 12 people, including children and women, were injured as a result of the incident.

The spokesman for the Herat Health Department added that 10 of the injured were taken to the district hospital and two others were admitted to the nearby Guzara district hospital. He said the condition of the injured was satisfactory.

A similar road accident on the main Herat – Kandahar highway last week left five people killed and injured 20 others.
