SAR-E-PUL (SW) – Recent flash floods in Sar-e-Pul province have claimed at least two lives, confirmed officials.
The local authorities of Sozme Qala district say that a woman and a 10-year-old child died as a result of the flood in Charak village of this district.
Mohammad Hossein Eftekhari, the district governor of Souzme Qala, says that the flood started in “Charak” village around 2:00 a.m. after dawn. He adds that there is a possibility that the number of casualties will increase.
According to the district governor of Suzeme Qala, hundreds of acres of agricultural land have also been destroyed as a result of the floods in the village.
The officials at natural disasters management say that they will start the process of helping the victims after the first survey.
