Bid to smuggle chromite to Pakistan thwarted at Torkham

JALALABAD (SW) – Security officials at Torkham have stopped the smuggling of chromite stones to Pakistan via this crossing point.

Mohammad Iqbal Takal, director of Torkham intelligence unity, has said that 35 tons of chromite stone, which was being transported to Pakistan in a truck with fake documents, has been seized. He added that after examining the documents of the stones, it was found that the documents are fake and the intelligence management officials prevented them from being sent to Pakistan.

According to Takal, the driver of the truck has also been arrested in this regard.
