LASHKARGAH (SW) – A number of Helmand residents say they have been kept deprived of any aid despite pouring in of international aid and support in Afghanistan.

According to the people of Helmand, the aid is not distributed properly to the needy families in this province and they are deprived of it during the distribution.

Abdul Ghaffar, a resident of Babaji district of Helmand, complained about the distribution of aid to needy families in this province. “I am a resident of Babaji district, no one has given any help in our region and village, this can not be proved by anyone, while the people are in dire need.”

At the same time, some of the people who received the aid are happy, but they say that this aid cannot solve their problems in the long run. According to them, many families are facing problems in the coming winter.

At the same time, the officials of the Department of Refugees and Returnees in Helmand informed that during the past one year, they have provided cash, food and non-food aid to more than 49,000 deserving families in the center and many districts of the province.

Allahdad Anqiyadi, director of refugee and returnee affairs, said that efforts are being made to help other needy families.

“With the establishment of the Islamic Emirate, our department has provided cash and food aid to 50,000 families with the help of charitable organizations. We are still continuing our efforts.”
